Chapter 1 Everyone says that life is like a play
In fact, many rural areas have entered modernity, possessing everything that should be available. This notion is disregarded by the younger generation who have received modern education. However, the small village where Yue Fan resides is not the same. Nestled deep in the mountains, with difficult mountain roads and limited contact with the outside world, it remains quite isolated. As a result, some negative beliefs still hold considerable sway. Yue Fan, born under the ominous sign of a "broom star," is feared by many, as he is said to have caused the death of his parents just six hours after his birth. People are wary of associating with him, fearing that they too might suffer misfortune.
This situation changed after the age of six. In light of the villagers' negative attitude towards Yue Fan, his grandparents decisively decided to move to the city when he reached school age. People in the city are exposed to a wider range of experiences, and terms like "star of misfortune" are regarded as jokes. Losing one’s parents is not an uncommon occurrence, and no one blamed the young Yue Fan; instead, they felt sympathy for him. Thus, Yue Fan was fortunate to lead a normal life after the age of six.
Having no particular aspirations for life, he simply hopes to live an ordinary life, safely enjoying his existence. In his childhood, when everyone scorned him, saying he had caused the deaths of his father and mother, he would cry in secret. His grandparents told him that his parents died to protect him.
His girlfriend and *the book* took him on a motorcycle trip. On the way, they encountered a series of car accidents, causing the motorcycle to flip over, and both of them fell to the ground. Yue Fan's last memory was of a massive piece of wood hurtling towards him at an unavoidable speed. The memory froze as his girlfriend shielded him, and then everything went dark for Yue Fan as he lost all consciousness
Later, the woman revealed while intoxicated that the reason she was attracted to the legendary survival expert Yue Fan, who would confront a wild cat for three seconds before scanning the surroundings to find the safest place to occupy, then rapidly devise a retreat plan in his mind, and finally execute the plan to retreat, was simply because she found Yue Fan to be very cute and fragile, which evoked her protective instincts
At the time of his birth, no one smiled for him or felt joy for him, as his mother died during a difficult labor. His father, overwhelmed by grief, wandered in a daze and was involved in a car accident as he left the hospital. He became an orphan just six hours after his birth, without even having the chance to leave the incubator or taste a drop of his mother's milk. Because of this, the villagers referred to him as a "parent-killer," having caused the death of his mother and then his father, labeling him as a complete harbinger of misfortune.
However, this determination has somewhat changed in flavor due to certain factors
People often say that life is like a play, meaning that life is a performance that begins with one's own cries and ends with the cries of others; of course, this is a perfect hypothesis. Starting from the moment others hear your cries and concluding when you hear the cries of others, this is a very perfect assumption. It implies that when you are born, there are those who smile and rejoice for you, and when you pass away, there are those who grieve and weep for you. Starting from the moment others hear your cries and concluding when you hear the cries of others, this is a very perfect assumption. It implies that when you are born, there are those who smile and rejoice for you, and when you pass away, there are those who grieve and weep for you.
The greatest wish of your father and mother is for you to survive, for you to live on, even at the cost of their own lives. Therefore, regardless of what others say or how they treat you, you must survive, you must live. Your life was bought with the lives of your father and mother. You must live, you must live on for your father and mother!
However, how should I put it regarding his character? In his childhood, he faced discrimination; everyone in the village feared and avoided him, often referring to him as a harbinger of misfortune and harboring hostility towards him. It is impossible for a young child's heart to remain unscathed by such experiences, which inevitably imbued his perceptions of people and situations with negative elements. Even after the environment improved upon his entry into school, the psychological scars were not so easily healed.
However, the two of them truly make a perfect match; one is timid and fearful, while the other is bold and audacious. The girl's cheerfulness and vivacity deeply influenced Yue Fan, who began to reveal his rare sunny side during this period. He started to try things he once regarded as terrifying and even showcased a talent for sarcasm, delivering deadpan remarks that left others in tears. This captivated the girl, who became infatuated with him, clinging to Yue Fan and declaring that she would marry him after graduation. No one in the entire school believed that they would not be happy together for a lifetime.
Because he is a jinx, no peers dare to approach him. Originally, there were some, but the adults always intentionally or unintentionally distanced themselves from Yue Fan, advising their children not to associate with him, claiming he is a jinx and that being around him will bring misfortune. The adults' attitudes have unconsciously influenced the children's perceptions.
He has never participated in any activities that he considers dangerous since childhood. Here, danger refers to what he perceives as perilous, such as sports, competitions, or outings. He obsessively believes that preserving his safety is of utmost importance, and to ensure his safety, he must avoid all risks. Consequently, he stubbornly rejects any activities that might expose him to danger, attempting to evade all risks and closing off his inner self. As a result, he has been regarded as a notorious coward from childhood to adulthood, with a reputation that precedes him, and no girls are attracted to cowards.
Yet life is like a play, and as the protagonists, humans can only act according to the script, unable to improvise freely. They must perform as the script dictates; if the script calls for death, then death it shall be. Yue Fan has lived cautiously for twenty years, yet still cannot escape the inevitable conclusion of death approaching.
Due to the passing of his parents, Yue Fan could only be raised by his elderly grandparents, but fortunately, there are still relatives and others willing to care for him
The result, of course, is an utterly unoriginal time travel, which consequently gives rise to another story, a historical narrative completely different from any historical record, a tale woven from blood and tears, laughter and sorrow, and the myriad flavors of human experience
They all love Yue Fan, deeply... From that moment on, in Yue Fan's small heart, a vow was made: to live, no matter what, to live. His life was exchanged for by his parents' lives. He must not only live for himself but also for his parents. No matter what, he must live, using any means necessary, to survive until he can no longer continue living! To live until he can reunite with his parents! No matter what, he must live, using any means necessary, to survive until he can no longer continue living! To live until he can reunite with his parents!
This statement is not entirely incorrect. Before Yue Fan was born, his mother's health was already poor, and the hospital expressed concerns about whether a natural birth would be possible and whether both mother and child would be safe. However, Yue Fan's mother insisted on giving birth to him and prioritized the child's safety in case of danger. Yue Fan's father had a car accident because he was mentally exhausted from days of caregiving, and after experiencing the pain of losing his wife, he was in a daze yet still declared that he would raise Yue Fan alone. He had the accident while going to buy baby supplies for Yue Fan.
It was not until he entered university that societal attitudes began to shift, and the so-called "tough girl" emerged as a new phenomenon on the historical stage. Yue Fan welcomed his own spring, having found a girlfriend who did not mind his timid nature, a girl of the tough variety. She was quite attractive, possessed considerable martial prowess, and had a bold personality, proudly calling herself the "Jiangnan Heroine." A master of karate, she had once single-handedly defeated four burly men and was a figure of renown. The events between her and Yue Fan became widely circulated, with rumors suggesting that she pursued him, offering the condition of providing comprehensive protection for him. Yue Fan shyly agreed to this arrangement.
Yue Fan's childhood began in solitude. Initially, it was lonely, yet not tragic, for his parents were wealthy, and his grandparents were among the richest in the village. Upon the death of his parents, Yue Fan inherited a substantial fortune and two houses, while his grandparents owned several dozen acres of farmland. From a young age, Yue Fan never lacked money; what he lacked was friendship and parental love, which his grandparents, despite their utmost efforts, could not provide. In life, there are always certain things that no one can replace.
If Yue Fan's parents had not passed away due to an accident, he would have lived in the city, experiencing the various facets of life alongside other children, from a perfect beginning to a perfect end, concluding his life. Unfortunately, fate did not grant him this opportunity. After the death of his parents, Yue Fan could only live with his grandparents in a small village deep in the mountains.
From this perspective, both the beginning and the end of life are imperfect.
